Cookbook Hook

One day I fully intend on putting together a cookbook.  I’m an okay-ish cook, but I don’t have any training or originality in the art, so the cookbook will mostly be recipes of “what goes well with honey mustard.”  But that’s not really enough of a hook.  The cookbook hook is the key to all of it!

So, and follow me on this one, the cookbook will encase an Agatha Christy style murder mystery in between recipes.  How does 1/2 cup brown sugar impact the investigation? Did using baking soda and not baking powder in that cookie recipe finally push the criminal over the edge? Every page will keep the reader moving closer and closer to the solution.  Every page introduces a new character, a new development, a new guide for proper folding, probably an omelet or two more than necessary.  You make a nice loaf of franksbrod and figure out why the secret investments of one Mr. Cornwallis will play an integral role in the resolution of the whole murder.  Is Mr. Cornwallis the dead person? Well, that will be revealed in the Entrees section.

Plot points are still being hashed out. In the meantime,  some working titles:

The Joy of Cooking Up Devilish Plots

Better Homes and Garden Graves

Death by Chocolate (but this one feels pretty obvious)

30 Minute Murders

The Low-Probability of Being Caught – Diet Handbook

How to Cook Everything and Get Away With It

Mastering the Art of French Coverups

SaltFatMotiveHeat

The Whole 30 Clues

The Smothered Kitchen

Cooking For Geoffrey’s Memory

The Food Lab…Will Have DNA Evidence Confirmed in 30 to 45 Days

The Silver Spoon Was The Weapon

Thanks for reading!
