Aptly Tailored

Our little Super Guy gets surgery. It’s a sucky prospect. There’s no eloquent way to word it, it just sucks.

He’s a trooper though. He did the entire exam sitting on his own in the big green exam chair that looks a bit more Star Trek captain seat than doctor office chair. He’s never sat on his own for the exam. He’s usually on my lap and quite resistant to looking where he is asked to look. Not today though. He sat up, answered questions, didn’t yell at the person doing the eye pressure test despite said person being very, very bad at performing the task (and spoke at about 4000 decibels above appropriate). The firstborn was incredible.

If any kid has to go through the process I’m ok with it being him. He can handle it. When it’s all over he’ll want nothing more than a Subway cold-cut to end the fast. He’s a pretty super dude.
